The 2nd South African Special Economic Zones (SEZ) Infrastructure and Investment Conference

Moshate Communications together with the dtic in the planned and implemented the 2nd South African Special Economic Zones (SEZ) Infrastructure and Investment Conference under the theme: “Reigniting Industrialisation through World-Class SEZs”. The conference is positioned as a flagship national platform aimed at advancing investment into SEZs and industrial parks, while strengthening South Africa’s industrialisation trajectory. The event has brought together government, investors, developers, operators, industry stakeholders and strategic partners to engage in SEZ infrastructure development, investment opportunities, programme performance and partnerships within the broader SEZ ecosystem.

The conference programme  included plenary sessions, exhibitions, networking engagements, a gala dinner and awards ceremony, as well as related stakeholder activities. Given the scale, profile and multi-stakeholder nature of the event, it is envisaged that the conference served as a platform for facilitating a critical debate around the effectiveness of varied governance models and/or critical success determinants of SEZs. This is particularly important in the context of the revised SEZ Implementation Model that is encapsulated within the Spatial Industrial Development Strategy.
