The developmental aspect of SIDSSA is rooted in its public sector-led demand-side stimulus,
focusing on GDP growth and job creation.
The symposium prioritised active participation from a select group of individuals and
institutions collaborating towards the execution of projects presented within SIDSSA. The
underlying principle of SIDSSA is to assemble State Owned Entities, Multilateral
Development Banks (MDBs), Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), the Private Sector,
and Academia in this inaugural African consultation session.
The event featured comprehensive discussions on the latest developments in finance,
sustainable infrastructure, and the impact of emerging technologies, followed by in-depth
explorations of specific sectors, including energy, urban development, and transportation.
These discussions were complemented by case studies showcasing pioneering projects,
advanced technologies, and innovative funding structures. An additional highlight was the
“Marketplace,” a networking forum designed for infrastructure leaders to present their ideas,
projects, or solutions to stakeholders across the value chain.
