The 15th BRICS Summit took place from 22 to 24 August 2023 in Johannesburg, South Africa, bringing together the heads of state and government from the five member nations: Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. Hosted by President Cyril Ramaphosa, the summit extended its reach as he invited leaders from 67 additional countries, underscoring its global significance. Held under the theme “BRICS and Africa: Partnership for Mutually Accelerated Growth, Sustainable Development, and Inclusive Multilateralism,” the summit emphasized deepening cooperation between BRICS and the African continent to drive shared prosperity and equitable global governance.
